Hanover Park boasts 15 acres of open space that offers a quiet campground, picnic pavilion, playground, skateboard park and a canoe/ kayak launch. The Saugeen is widely recognized for quality canoeing and sport fishing. Wander through Commemorative Grove at Wilken Park and enjoy commemorative trees, plantings, benches and picnic tables overlooking the Hanover Dam Spillway. Take a stroll, bike, run, ski or snowshoe over an 11 km community trail system along the picturesque Saugeen River.

Hanover's Heritage Square features a Community Recognition Labyrinth, sunken music garden with granite sculpture, amphitheatre and heritage promenade.

Our annual events include a pipe band competition, Streetiques car show, garden tour, Canada Day celebrations, harness racing, craft show, fall fair, sports tournaments, Santa. Claus parade, Christmas in the Country and the Sights and Sounds Festival. For sheer entertainment, nothing beats the year round Hanover Racetrack Slots, or the harness racing at the Hanover Raceway every Saturday night, from May to September, with Wednesday night racing, July and August. Spring, Summer and Fall you can enjoy a challenging round of golf or take a nostalgic trip to the fully functional Drive-in Theatre. Close to everything and far from the ordinary, Hanover offers relaxing, friendly and fondly remembered good times.

The Hanover Civic Theatre had its inaugural season in 1999 and continues to provide excellent productions for your enjoyment throughout the year.

The Town of Hanover is located in the heart of the spectacular Georgian Lake lands on the Bruce-Grey boundary. Hanover is within 1ย1 hours of Highway #401; two hours north of Toronto, London and Hamilton; 1 hour north of Kitchener and Guelph; 45 minutes south of Owen Sound. We serve a catchments population of approximately 18,000 people.

Because of its central location in the Saugeen Area, Hanover offers a number of restaurants and dining facilities to choose from. Hanover attracts shoppers from throughout Midwestern Ontario to enjoy the large variety of retail and personal service shops.

Hanover & District Hospital was established in 1923 and is an 80 bed accredited acute care facility with 49 beds fully staffed in a rural setting.
